According to WHO more than 12 lakh people are killed in the road accidents. The reports says that yearly 2.2 % of total death is due to accidents. Even the majority of vehicles are used in developed nations, 90 of accidents took place in non developed countries. According to WHO in the coming decade the 3rd important cause of death and accidents will be road accidents. We should remember some important facts about road accidents.

Carelessness among the road users is an important cause of road accidents. Careful usage of road can limit the number of road accidents. Use foot path for walking in the road.
Walk very carefully though right side of the road if the foot path is not available with the road. Use right side of the road for walking as the vehicles use the left side of the road.
Dont walk as group in the road. Use traffic signals to cross the roads.
Dont try to cross the road between the moving vehicles. Dont try to cross the road ing turning places.
Use zebra crossings to cross the road. Use over bridges and under passages to cross the road. Cross the road after getting the signals from traffic police and traffic signals.
